Borrowing from C.S. Lewis the importance of definition. Being a gentleman used to mean something different than a man’s character. A status of a man was his preferred definition. As such the definition of a Christian should be also a matter of status as we represent each other and our saviour regardless of if we are good representative of our faith or not. Truth be told as much as blood binds brothers and sisters together regardless of if we acknowledge our blood relatives so to does the blood of Jesus. It is better to acknowledge that we are in fact brothers and sisters than to deny it. As family has disagreements but still a hope of reconciliation. If we were are indeed not family then there is no hope to be one together on this earth nor in heaven afterward. Indeed some if not many do take the Lord’s name in vein not in speech but actions toward their spiritual family and those who may or may not become fellow siblings in faith based on how we represent each other.
